Concert At Sea Record Sellout

Dutch band Blof, organizers of the Concert At Sea festival, expect 40,000 visitors per day for the event June 30 to July 1.

Tom Odell, UB40, as well as Dutch all-stars Kensington, Racoon, Anouk and Blof themselves are to play the 11th annual festival at Brouwersdam in the province of Zeeland, located in the southwest of Holland.

The festival sold 30,000 weekend tickets in little over an hour last week and another 20,000 day tickets on Dec. 2 in the same amount of time.

Festival director Lesley Grieten said he was “stunned” by the quick ticket sales.

“This is a milestone for our festival. We are very much looking forward to making it another great event next summer,” Grieten said.

Concert at Sea is one of Holland’s largest festivals. Acts that played in the past include Lenny Kravitz, Counting Crows, Passenger, Bastille, James Morrison, Skunk Anansie and Faithless.
