Mayday Parade Shares ‘A Lesson’ With Fans

The anniversary festivities will continue for Mayday Parade in 2017. Following November’s excursion in honor of the Tales Told My Dead Friends EP, the band has planned a headline tour to mark the 10th anniversary of its debut album, A Lesson In Romantics.

Since forming in 2005 in Tallahassee, Fla., Mayday Parade has put out five studio albums. The pop punk band burst onto the scene with 2006’s Tales Told My Dead Friends EP and 2007’s A Lesson In Romantics, which includes the singles “When I get Home, You’re So Dead” and “Jamie All Over.”

Although vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster left the band in 2007, the rest of the lineup has been with Mayday Parade since the very beginning: Brooks Bett (rhythm guitar), Jake Bundrick (drums, vocals), Alex Garcia (lead guitar), Jeremy Lenzo (bass, backing vocals), and Derek Sanders (vocals, piano).

Mayday Parade’s most recent album, Black Lines, was released in 2015.

Last month Mayday Parade treated fans to a video for “The Problem With The Big Picture Is That It’s Hard To See,” which is featured on the special anniversary edition of Tales Told My Dead Friends EP. The video includes never-before-seen footage, highlighting early memories from the band’s career.

“We are stoked to celebrate our 10th anniversary of our debut record, A Lesson in Romantics,” Betts says. “We want to reminisce on the memory with our fans. Especially with those who have been with us for so many years. In celebration, we are announcing our A Lesson in Romantics tour, we would like to invite you all to share in the experience with us. We will be launching a two and a half month long tour of US and Canada. Hope to see you there!”
