PJ Harvey Plots Full North American Trek

Now that her latest album is up for a Grammy, PJ Harvey is headed to 15 North American cities in 2017 to bring the masses the live PJ experience.

The new dates start at  in Toronto April 13 and run for just under a month, finishing at Los Angeles’  on May 12. Along the way Harvey hits most regions, and has a three-night series in Texas April 27-29.

She played a few shows in Los Angeles and New York earlier this year, but this is the first extended run we have on record for PJ Harvey in North America since 2009.

Her full routing is a legitimate global tour. The next place to catch PJ is in Singapore Jan. 13. After that she has an extended routing in Australia, including an appearance at  in Pyrmont Jan. 22, a brief jaunt over to New Zealand Jan. 24 and a two night stand at  in Fortitude Valley Jan. 27-28. She also hits Tokyo, Japan, on Jan. 31.

PJ Harvey’s 2016 album The Hope Six Demolition Project is up for Best Alternative Music Album. In a classic case of “Always a bridesmaid,” this year marks the seventh time the alternative songstress has been nominated, but she has yet to bring one home.

Here’s the music video for the opening track of The Hope Six, “The Community of Hope.” While it can be hard to tell with Harvey, it seems like the song touches on themes of gentrification and race. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.
