Houghton Fest To Debut

A new three-day arts and music festival is to premiere within the grounds of Houghton Hall in Norfolk, England, Aug. 11-13.

Dubbed Houghton, the festival is curated by DJ Craig Richards and produced by Gottwood, the people behind the Welsh electronic music festival of the same name. Houghton, too, is all about electronic music.

Among the confirmed acts are Ricardo Villalobos, who will also perform alongside Max Loderbauer as VILOD, as well as Nicolas JaarFloating Points, and Seth Troxler. Organizers say “the festival site is located in a never before used area of the Houghton estate, centered around a beautiful lake, set amongst thick deciduous woodland and plays home to a number of unique venues including an abandoned warehouse, subterranean bowl and a world renowned art and sculpture park.”

Richards, who invited all acts personally, explained: “I made it clear that the people invited to perform would be chosen on merit. All will be chefs not waiters. All are artists whose talent I value immensely. It is my intention that the festival represents the very best in electronic music and those performing are closest to my heart and record box” The early-bird price for tickets is £80 plus £8 booking fee, which includes public camping.
