The Roots Get Into The Holiday Spirit

The Legendary Roots Crew is taking a break from its gig on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for a brief seasonal run in four lucky cities.

The first stop is Boston’s  on Dec. 26. The gigs run over six days, leading up to a New Year’s Eve show in Miami.

Apparently the guys are fans of Florida because their only 2017 gigs so far are set to take place in that state. In March The Roots will appear at  in March and at  at  in Miami Gardens.

The former Pollstar HotStar is approaching its 30-year anniversary in 2017. The only original members left are Black Thought and , who have been joined by a wide array of bandmates over the years.

The Roots contributed to The Hamilton Mixtape, which features music from the hit 2015 musical “Hamilton.” That project was made available Dec. 2.

Questlove announced in October that the group was working on its 17th studio album. Look out for Endgame in 2017.
