More Solo Shows For Sigur Rós

Sigur Rós is hitting North America in 2017 with the same scaled-downinstrumentation that made waves this year. The band will be performing doublesets, appearing without any support acts throughout the tour.

The newly announced venues are mostly theatres and give the fanssomething to get comfortable in, because they will be going on an epic auditoryjourney. The first stop is Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, Calif., onApril 7. From there, Sigur Rós stays in California for awhile, as they have afew other headline dates booked and appear at Reykjavík Festival in LosAngeles’ Walt Disney Concert Hall. The routing runs around the nation until thecloser in Philadelphia June 16.

The band also plays The Hangout Beach, Music & Arts festival in GulfShores, Ala.

This run will continue the trio’s recent trend of performing without thelive orchestra and brass section. All of the headline shows will feature adouble-set with a brief intermission in the middle.

The former Pollstar HotStar’s catalog stretches back more than 20 yearsso the group will not have a shortage of material to perform. It released thesingle “Óveður” earlier this year. Check out the tour trailer below:
