ILMC Launches Festival And Venue Summits
New festival and venue summits will be part of ILMC, which takes place March 8-10 at London’s Royal Garden Hotel.
The aim of these new “sector-spotlight events” is to present “topics that focus on relationships with the wider live music business internationally,” according to the announcement.
The Festival Summit takes place on March 8, in association with European festival association Yourope. Topics to be discussed include “the rise of new festival concepts, VIP offerings, new financial models for festivals, streaming and broadcasting rights, and the role of festivals as an A&R source.”
Yourope general manager Christof Huber commented: “Just before the main push towards the summer, the Festival Summit is a great moment to address some of the key issues that organizers face. Yourope is thrilled to be expanding its involvement in ILMC moving forwards.”
The March 9 Venue Summit will focus on “the arena and stadia sector, venues as content creators, action to protect the grassroots scene, and safety and security following the Bataclan attack in 2015.” The UK’s National Arena Association, the European Arenas Association, as well as the Music Venue Trust among others helped shape the day’s program.
“It’s great to see the ILMC evolving and extending its content relating to venues into the Venues Summit,” said Martin Ingham, NAA chair and Chief Executive of
ILMC’s Greg Parmley said: “The two new Summits will provide a new, crystal clear focus on these dynamic areas of the business. With two new conference programs, a shift to a mid week format and more live music than ever, we’re counting the days to March.”
