Tony Bennett Books 2017 U.S. Gigs

Over at TonyBennett.com the countdown is on for the air date of “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet To Come.” And thanks to a new batch of recently announced performances, fans have more dates to look forward to.

Bennnett’s 90th birthday television special airs on NBC on Dec. 20. The program includes appearances by Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Aretha Franklin,Diana Krall, Rufus Wainwright and Stevie Wonder. Billy Joel, Elton John and Bob Dylan sent in taped performances for the occasion. Of course the special guest list includes Lady Gaga, who collaborated with Bennett on the 2014 album Cheek to Cheek.

“Tony Bennett Celebrates 90” is practically guaranteed to be a good time. As the New York Times points out in the publication’s recent feature on Bennett, his 80th birthday special on NBC won seven Emmy Awards.

At 90 the legendary singer isn’t slowing down. He has a few more dates to play this year – Friday in Fredericksburg, Va., and Saturday in Buffalo, N.Y.
