Disabled-Friendly Venues & Festivals Awarded

The Outstanding Attitude Awards recognizes venues and festivals in the UK for providing access for deaf and disabled audiences.  

Venue winners include London’s Albany for providing video-based travel information, Bristol’s Colston Hall for its Fast Forward Festival, a series of conferences and performances centering around making music accessible, and Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena for its British sign language interpretation service for all new events.

Reading Festival introduced a similar service, for which it received an Outstanding Attitude Award.

Just So Festival in Cheshire was awarded for its “inclusive program,” and Nozstock in Herefordshire won an award for its detailed online access information.

The charity behind the awards, Attitude is Everything, claims that more than 125 venues and festivals are signed to its “Charter of Best Practice,” and that “ticket sales to deaf and disabled fans at their events increased by more than 26 percent in 2015.”
