Camila Cabello Quits Fifth Harmony
Fifth Harmony no longer has five members. The girl group broke the news via Instagram late last night that Camila Cabello had left the lineup.
The message was posted on Instagram at midnight EST, hours after Fifth Harmony played its last show of the year – an appearance at Y100’s Jingle Ball at
“After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.
“You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brook, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.
“We are excited for our future, and we can’t wait for what the new year brings.
“Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you will all of our hearts.
“Love, Ally, Normani, Dinah and Lauren.”
Fifth Harmony formed in 2012 during the second season of “The X Factor.” The five vocalists auditioned as individuals before Simon Cowell suggested that they team up in the group category. In May the group released its second studio album, 7/27, which was named after the date Fifth Harmony formed.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Fifth Harmony changes its name or decides to add another member to take Cabello’s place.
As of post time Cabello hasn’t addressed the split on her social media accounts. The most recent thing she posted on Twitter was a retweet of a HeadlinePlanet.com story noting that “Bad Things” has been certified gold in the U.S.

Her most recent post on Instagram was a photo of Cabello with a quote from Warsan Shire: “I’ll only have you if you’re sweeter than my solitude.”
Update: Cabello posted a message on Twitter Monday saying she was “shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I as ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true. Just like the other girls said in their statement about their plans, I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavors in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way.” Read Cabello’s full message here.
