Sharon Jones’ Christmas Gift To Fans

You owe it to yourself to watch the brand new video for “Please Come Home For Christmas” featuring Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.

The song hails from Jones & The Dap Kings’ 2015 seasonal album, It’s A Holiday Soul Party!  The stop-motion video features Jones and The Dap Kings portrayed as Claymation-styled characters.

The track list for It’s A Holiday Soul Party!’ includes classics such as “White Christmas” and “Silent Night” alongside songs like “Ain’t No Chimneys In The Projects” and “Funky Little Drummer Boy.”

Today’s video release comes shortly after memorial services were held in Jones’ two home towns – Brooklyn, N.Y., and Augusta, Ga.  The 60-year-old soul / funk singer succumbed to cancer Nov. 18.

“Our friend Sharon has always been at the heart of Daptone and always will be, Daptone Records co-owner / Dap-Kings band leader Gabriel Roth said in a letter to fans.  “I am so grateful to her and to all of you for putting your hearts into all of this in so many ways.”
