Dame Esther Rantzen, founder of Childline, has indicated she would like to organize a tribute show in the memory of Michael, who was a longtime benefactor of her organization.

“I think it would be wonderful to celebrate him with a tribute concert next year,” Esther told The Mirror.  “George helped us to reach out to hundreds of thousands of children through his generosity.”

Michael reportedly donated millions to Childline over the years. Other accounts of his generosity are pouring in now that he has passed. David Walliams tweeted that the singer gave sports relief 50,000 pounds when Walliams swam the English Channel. A woman who appeared on a game show because she needed money for a medical treatment recently said that Michael contacted her and privately covered her expenses after the show.

Along with these stories of his giving spirit, tributes are pouring in from the likes of Elton John, Mariah Carey, and Melissa Etheridge.

There is still no lineup, date or venue confirmed for any major tribute, so as of now the whole enterprise is speculation. Check in with Pollstar for future updates.
