New Jersey To See The Light Of Day
The Light Of Day Winterfest 2017 announces its lineup, which includes the likes of Peter Asher , Joey Molland , Kashmir and a recreation of Joe Cocker’s live album Mad Dogs & Englishmen. The festival will shed its light mostly in New Jersey, but also has gigs in New York and Philadelphia.
The 10-day run of shows is from Jan. 6-16. The majority of the performances are in different venues in Asbury Park, N.J. There are also shows in Montclair, N.J. on Jan. 6, in Philadelphia on Jan. 7 and in New York on Jan. 11.

You can catch Albert Lee and The Tangiers Blues Band on Jan. 13 at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club. Peter Asher is at McLoone’s the following night to headline “Peter Asher: A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond.” Of course he’ll be sharing some tunes from Peter and Gordon. Joey Molland of Badfinger will play the Stone Pony on Jan. 13. Kashmir, the renowned Led Zeppelin tribute act, will play House of Independents on Jan. 13. Paramount Theater hosts the tribute to Mad Dogs & Englishmen on Jan. 13 with a band featuring 20 musicians.
Other acts set to perform during the festival are Joe Grushecky And The Houserockers , Willie Nile , Garland Jeffreys , James Maddock , Bruce Tunkel , Sonny Kenn and Kyle Ward.
The event raises money and awareness to battle Parkinson’s disease, and the related nuero-degenerative diseases Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
