New Order, New Dates

New Order has shared some of its plans for the first half of 2017 after trotting the globe last year. Most of the forthcoming shows are centered in one lucky U.S. state.

And that state is … California! New Order is booked to play Coachella in Indio, Calif., on April 16 and 23 and also has gigs in Santa Barbara and Berkeley. The only show currently scheduled outside of the Golden State is April 13 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

The group is still pushing tunes from its 2015 album, Music Complete. Last year it played Asia, Australia, North America, South America and Europe.

New Order has been around for more than 35 years and still features former Joy Division members Stephen Morris and Bernard Sumner, along with Gillian Gilbert, Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham. Morris, Sumner, and founding bassist Peter Hook formed New Order after Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis killed himself in 1980.
