Glastonbury Festival directors Michael and Emily Eavis clarified their future event plans, saying the new Variety Bazaar festival will happen only when the mammoth British fest takes a break.

Glastonbury is taking a year off in 2018 and celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020, which means that the new event may be introduced in 2021. “But none of this is set in stone,” Emily Eavis emphasized, while answering readers’ questions for The Guardian.

The Variety Bazaar will be a proper stand-alone festival, not a boutique addition.

“It takes us a whole year to plan this. We couldn’t do both in the same year,” she explained. “And just to be clear, there’s no plan to move Glastonbury festival away from Worthy Farm or to stop doing those here.”

Father and daughter also revealed news about the upcoming Glastonbury edition, June 21-25. Kris Kristofferson will play the Pyramid stage on Friday afternoon, mere hours before headliner Radiohead will take the stage.

A drive-in-style theater by the name of Cineramageddon will be introduced, with “vintage American cars facing a huge outdoor cinema screen.”

The area known as the Common will be expanded, and the nearby Bath & West Showground will serve as an emergency parking space, should festivalgoers be caught up in rain on arrival day, as happened in 2016.
