Adam Ant Guitarist Tom Edwards Dies
Tom Edwards, who was a guitarist and music director for Adam Ant, died unexpectedly. He was 41.
Edwards was a member of Adam Ant’s “North American Kings Of The Wild Frontier” tour that began at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C., Monday evening. “He was found unresponsive” Wednesday and was rushed to Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill, N.J., where he passed away from “suspected heart failure” in the late afternoon. An autopsy is pending.
Edwards’ career included playing with Rodney Frame., Fields Of The Nephilim, Rebelles, Edwyn Collins, Andrea Corrs, Arno Castens and Spiderbites.
Adam Ant’s representative issued the following message:
On behalf of Adam and his band, we thank all of you for your best wishes and support during this most difficult time. Tom shared his musical gifts with the world and his spirit will live on forever.
Adam Ant’s Facebook page states that shows scheduled for tonight at the Keswick Theatre in Philadelphia and Friday night’s gig at Webster Hall have been postponed. The tour will resume Jan. 29 at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto.
