Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real Takes Center Stage

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real has headline dates and festival appearances booked through the first six months of 2017.

The first place to see the guys is at Neil Fest in Austin and Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 18 and 19 respectively. The band has toured with Neil Young, whom festival draws its namesake from. Young even recorded guest vocals on the band’s most recent album, and said of the group, “I love all the bands I have played with … but this band (and the multi-generational thing) is epic!”

Lukas Nelson and his brother Micah Nelson are the sons of outlaw country star Willie Nelson. Those boys handle guitar and vocals, and are backed by Corey McCormick on bass, percussionist Tato Melgar and Anthony LoGerfo on drums.

The band released the album Something Real last year and is already working on another project to capture the group’s “cowboy hippie surf rock” vibes.

Other dates on the docket for Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real include headline dates in California and appearances at Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam and Luck Reunion.
