Spanish Promoters To Sue Viagogo

After tickets for Joaquín Sabina’s upcoming tour ended up on Viagogo, the artist’s promoters TheProject, Get In and Riff, as well as his management at Berry Producciones, announced to take legal action against ticket reseller Viagogo.

“We do not recognize as valid the prices that are charged in the resale,” the artist’s team wrote in a joint statement. What is more, Sabina’s show in A Coruna, which was originally scheduled for July 22, had to be postponed.

However, according to the statement, Viagogo.com and Viagogo.es still resold tickets for the original date, confusing the public with “fraudulent tickets that do not exist” and even announcing that the concert was sold out.

Besides announcing legal action, the statement also calls for the Spanish government to prohibit the online resale of tickets, as there is already a law in Spain prohibiting the street resale.
