Major Lazer, Dillon Francis and more were supposed to play Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi as part of the Mad Decent Black Party March 3-5, but promoter Oji scrapped all three shows.

“Oji is committed to providing audiences with unmatched experiences, and after thorough consideration, we have realized we are not able to host the Mad Decent Block Party in the exact style with which we envisioned,” the promoter wrote in a Facebook statement. “Therefore, unfortunately we have decided to cancel this event. Our sincerest apologies to each person this decision impacts. Fans who bought tickets will be refunded in full,” the statement continues.

However, India’s Radioandmusic.com questioned this narrative.

“Our source states that Oji was not getting enough sponsors to execute the event. Apart from Budweiser and co-sponsor Channel V India, there were no big names,” the website states.

Fans in New Delhi already missed out on Mad Decent Block Party’s India debut in 2016, when political tensions prevented Major Lazer, Big Gigantic and others to play the capital.
