The Sonics Speed Around U.S.
They may have taken 40 years off, but The Sonics still have love and will travel throughout North America with ’60s garage-rock stylings.
Since the group’s 2007 reunion, founding members Gerry Roslie and Larry Parypa have stopped going on the road, but original member Rob Lind is still doing it with Freddie Dennis and Dusty Watson. Newcomers Evan Foster and Jak Cavaliere are also hopping onstage as members of the group.

“Dusty and Freddie have now been in the Sonics longer than the originals, and I’ve come to think of them as originals,” Lind said. “We were incredibly lucky to find Jake Cavaliere and Evan Foster. They were both brought up on Sonics music and have been playing it since they were young boys, so they didn’t have to be taught anything. They already knew the sound that was required to be in this band. Jake and Evan were Sonics long before they ever played with us, and their transition has been easy and totally seamless.”
Roslie and Parypa still contribute to The Sonics in the studio and the group released This Is the Sonics in 2015 and Live At Easy Street in 2016.
The routing opens in Chicago on March 23 and closes with a festival appearance at Nashville Boogie Weekender on May 20. Along the way there are runs through the Midwest and Texas, with one performance booked in France, at
