Introducing ‘Music Media Summit’

Registration is under way for the inaugural Music Media Summit, an extension of the longtime Aspen Live Music Conference to be held in Santa Barbara, Calif. April 3-5.

“The summit is an extension of Aspen where our goal is to emulate Allen & Co.’s Sun Valley retreat,” MMS organizer Jim Lewi said. “Music is an essential part of TV, film and online platforms. Working, learning and just hanging out with each other always yield dividends.”

The summit will be hosted by the Kimpton Canary hotel for two days and three nights.

It will feature “music, media and tech” in the form of meetings, speakers, presentations, workshops, previews and “a little fun thrown in.”

The first round of speakers has been announced: Chris Moore, producer of Oscar-nominated “Manchester By The Sea” as well as “American Pie” and partner with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck at LivePlanet, is a guest speaker, as is Geffen Records President and A&R guru Neil Jacobson and Spotify Global Head of Strategic Initiatives Jonathan Price. This is great news for those who may love the Aspen conference but also may not have had great experiences with the slopes, and everybody other than Andy Somers too.
