Lil Wayne Wants To Be ‘Kloser 2 U’

Lil Wayne is returning to the road with a headline tour that may feature that storied, mysterious and controversial element: new music.

Wayne has been in a dispute with his record label, Cash Money Records, which has reportedly kept him from releasing his latest album, Tha Carter V, for several years. On Jan. 3 he posted a picture of himself with friends to his Facebook page with the caption “CV. Funeral. D6. Young Money.” Fans are speculating this means there are several new projects in the works, as Wayne has been prolific throughout his career, and these past few years of relative silence are unusual for the rapper.

All of this is to say that there is a good chance you will hear new tunes if you check out the “Kloser 2 U” tour. Following a run of perfofrmances at Universities this April, the routing opens in Louisville, Ky., on April 14 and runs for just less than a month, closing May 11 in Detroit.

Weezy also has a number of festival appearances booked, including Rolling Loud in Miami May 5-7 and The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia June 3.
