Quinn Sullivan Stands Among Giants

Young blues phenom Quinn Sullivan, who is turning 18 later this month, has announced a mix of headline dates, gigs with Jonny Lang and Buddy Guy, and festival appearances.

– Quinn Sullivan

The Massachusetts native just got back from playing Mahindra Blues Festival in India with Billy Gibbons and Shemekia Copeland. He recently released his third album, Midnight Highway, and the shows he is performing at will feature tunes off that project.

Sullivan must be used to the big stage by now. At 6 years old he performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which explains the claim that he has been playing music professionally for 75 percent of his life. Check out his rendition of “Little Wing” at last year’s Western Maryland Blues Festival:

The first upcoming show is March 25, the day before his birthday, in Ajax, Ontario. Following a run of three appearances with Jonny Lang in North and South Carolina, Sullivan has performances lined up with his mentor, Buddy Guy, in the Northeast, along with solo headline shows. More dates are still promised.

Festivals on Sullivan’s spring and summer itinerary include Western Maryland Blues Festival, Levitate Music Festival, and Notodden Blues Festival.
