The new dates start in Bangor, Maine, on July 27 and wrap up at venue still to be decided in Los Angeles on Aug. 26. There is also a TBA in Montreal on July 28.

Rancid has a new album arriving in 2017, the band’s ninth full length effort. The group is set to trot the globe before the tour with the Murphys, as they play Mexico and South America this month, followed by European festivals and Green Day shows in the summer.

Dropkick Murphys will be playing tunes from its new release, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, which came out in January. They have some U.S. gigs lined up this month, the next of which is tonight at

The two bands have connections that stretch back decades, as Rancid’s Tim Armstrong originally signed Dropkick to Hellcat Records 20 years ago and helped establish the up-and-comers.

“This is a dream come true for Dropkick Murphys,” DKM’s Ken Casey said. “Rancid gave us our break – Tim signing us to his label, Lars (Frederiksen) producing our early albums … so much history and great memories. Now, literally sharing the stage together every night. This tour is going to destroy all others this summer.”

The bands are promising a joint encore performance each night in which they will both take the stage simultaneously.
