Greensky Bluegrass Extends U.S. Routing

Greensky Bluegrass says it has been having so much fun on tour that the guys have signed on for another round of gigs. Cities on the routing include New Orleans; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; and Tusla, Okla.

The band has a new album to show off – 2016’s Shouted, Written Down & Quoted.

During a phone interview in October, Pollstar talked to mandolinist/lead vocalist Paul Hoffman about recording the LP, the band’s songwriting process and his introduction to the bluegrass world.

Hoffman also chatted about the live show and how the band keeps the setlist interesting.

“We play not only two sets a night, we play a different show every night,” Hoffman said. “We have a lot of fans that come to a lot of shows, like 30-plus a year. So our catalog of music is pretty large. Not all original but maybe over 200 songs. From show to show in one week, we’ll play the new record the most but we mix in all of our material and various covers and things from over the course of all of our catalog. We just kind of mix it up and play all of our material in a rotation [and] every couple of shows we’ll play a song again.”
