Gregg Allman Cancels 2017 Plans

We’ve got bad news for Gregg Allman fans. The acclaimed singer/songwriter has called off all of his scheduled tour dates, including his New York City residency.

A reason for the cancellation wasn’t given. An announcement on his website simply says: “It has been determined that Gregg will not be touring in 2017.  For those of you who purchased tickets for shows in June, contact the ticket outlet from where you purchased the tickets for a refund.”

The Allman Brother’s June itinerary included performances in Macon, Ga.; Atlanta; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Robinsonville, Miss.

Allman was supposed to play 10 shows at City Winery NYC in July – a residency that had already been rescheduled from November because of a vocal injury. At the time Allman released a statement saying, “This is the hardest thing I’ve had to do in a long, long time. I’ve been on the road 45 years because I live to play music with my friends for my fans. As much as I hate it, it’s time for me to take some real time off to heal.”

He had previously nixed several weeks of shows in 2016 to undergo surgery.
