Amazon Tickets Announces AEG Perks
Amazon Prime subscribers in the UK buying tickets through Amazon Tickets now have access to lounges, premium seating and exclusive pre-sales at AEG venues and festivals in the UK.
AEG’s The O2 in London and The SSE Arena, Wembley, opened new Amazon lounges for premium tickets holders, while The O2 also branded a batch of deck seats, which offer better views of the stage and waiter service.
AEG’s British Summer Time in Hyde Park will build a terrace, which Amazon Prime Terrace ticket holders have access to. Premium tickets will also be available for other London summer festivals including Live in Chelsea and Kew the Music.
Some of the offerings include additional perks such as a welcome drink upon arrival. From Thursday, March 30, “thousands of tickets will be available for pre-sale exclusively for Prime members,” the announcement states.
This includes UK concert tours by ABC, Art Garfunkel, The Darkness, KC & The Sunshine Band, and Sparks, with more events to be added regularly, including theater.
Geraldine Wilson, General Manager of Amazon Tickets, said: “Enhanced live entertainment experiences are a fantastic addition to Amazon Prime in the UK.
“We’re always looking to add to Amazon Prime, and today we’re delighted to give our members exclusive access to tickets to our new Amazon lounges, premium seating and pre-sales for live music and entertainment experiences across the UK.
Wilson said that this was “just the start – we’ll be adding new shows every week.”
Amazon seems to be making moves toward eventually rolling out its own primary ticketing service – and not just facilitating Ticketmaster transactions.
It has been recruiting Amazon Tickets personnel for an apparent U.S. launch.
