Classic East & Classic West Announced

Well, there it is: the concerts that nobody was to know about, yet everybody already knew about, are officially here: Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Journey, Earth Wind & Fire, and the Doobie Brothers are set to play two massive concerts on either side of the nation.

Eagles and Fleetwood Mac are set to headline The Classic West on July 15-16 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and The Classic East on July 29-30 at Citi Field in New York.

The Classic West will host Eagles, Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers Saturday July 15 and Fleetwood Mac, Journey, and Earth, Wind & Fire July 16.

The Classic East will host Eagles, Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers Saturday July 29 and Fleetwood Mac, Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire July 30.

Who will stand in for the late Glenn Frey is still unknown, but Don Henley has said he’d only consider performing under a semblance of the Eagles moniker if Frey’s son, Deacon, a monster guitarist and singer, was involved. Or, possibly, there’s the chance of Citi Field. Heck, maybe even both.

Word is that organizers are shying away from using the term festival because the events will not include stuff like Ferris wheels and side tents, etc.

Two-day reserved seat ticket packages for both concerts go on sale at Ticketmaster April 7 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages will also be available, including premium tickets, pre-show VIP lounge, exclusive merchandise, parking and more.

American Express card members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning April 3 at 10 a.m. through April 6 at 10 p.m.
