Hank Williams Jr. Adds Lynyrd Skynyrd Co-Bills
Are you ready for some Hank Williams Jr.? The artist has booked several shows with the legendary Southern rock act Lynyrd Skynyrd this summer.
Since we last covered Hank, he has added shows in June, July and August. There are four shows with Lynyrd Skynyrd in August, starting in Raleigh, N.C., Aug. 18. The singer/songwriter also has a special performance lined up with The Cadillac Three Sept. 15 in Airway Heights, Wash.
You can catch Hank at the “Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard” tribute April 6 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. His next headline date is April 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga.
Hank has been a figure in country music since he was born, really, as his father was a seminal influence in the evolution of country music. Fortunately for Hank Jr., he found his own style and has been releasing albums since 1964. His most recent project was It’s About Time in 2015.
Here is the classic theme he sang for “Monday Night Football” that brought him into millions of homes every week throughout the ’90s.
Williams seems to [wisely] be staying out of politics these days. When Taste of Country asked Williams in February of last year about the U.S. presidential election, he said “I don’t give a [expletive] about the election, I’ve got a smash CD coming out!”
