Rodrigo Y Gabriela Celebrate 10 Years Of Music

One decade ago Rodrigo Y Gabriela burst onto the international music scene with their eponymous breakout LP. Now the acoustic duo is touring internationally and re-releasing the album this year to keep the legacy alive.

The North American leg of the tour starts in Seattle May 24 and most of the dates are in May and June, the last of which is June 14 at Toronto’s
There is also a run of European headline dates and festival plays in late June and  July.
The 10th anniversary remaster of the Rodrigo y Gabriela album drops May 5 as a two-CD, one-DVD set, which includes film and audio versions of the group’s epic 2006 set at
“We are busy at work on our new record, but looking back at this album it’s good to be reminded of how far we’ve come in 10 years,” Rodrigo said. “We’re looking forward to playing those songs this summer.”
Both Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero are from Mexico City, and the story of their years rocking pubs and busking, building up a repertoire of covers and originals, is the stuff of legend. Check out this appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”:
If you were wondering, the two used to date, but ended their romantic relationship in 2012, though they obviously remain musical partners.
