Switchfoot will be playing tunes from its Where The Light Shines Through album, which came out in 2016. Lifehouse will likely be performing selected hits from throughout its catalog. Its last album was Out of the Wasteleand in 2015.
The bands both reject the label “Christian rock.” Switchfoot’s members are Christian and the band came up with support form Christian radio and a label, but does not like being pigeonholed into a genre with such clear expectations. “Calling us ‘Christian rock’ tends to be a box that closes some people out and excludes them, and that’s not what we’re trying to do, frontman Jon Foreman said.”
Lifehouse acknowledges its songs touch on spiritual themes, but similarly reject the Christian rock classification.
Both Switchfoot and Lifehouse are former Pollstar HotStars. The next place to catch Switchfoot is in the Netherlands May 25.
