Hans had previously locked in April headline gigs in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas to complement his two nights at Coachella. Those performances are sure to be memorable, and now the rest of the continent will get a chance to hear the master’s tunes.
The newly announced summer gigs start in Grand Prairie, Texas, on June 29. The tour hits the regional South, Northeast and Midwest before finally wrapping up in California. The closer is scheduled to be in San Diego on Aug. 12.
The concert, much like the recent “Hans Zimmer Revealed” shows that took place in Europe, will have two parts. The first half will be mostly original versions of Zimmer’s classic scores from films like “Gladiator,” “The Lion King” and “Pirates Of The Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” The second part will be re-imaginings of the music from movies like “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight” and “Inception,” where Zimmer will be joined by “special guests from the rock and pop world.”
Believe it or not this is Zimmer’s first complete world tour, and it is a triumphant one. After the NA gigs in April, he has New Zealand and Australia lined up in May, followed by more European dates into June. Basically, Hans is solidly booked for the next four months.
“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to kick off these west coast dates, visit Australia and return to Europe where we had so much fun playing in the summer,” Zimmer said in a statement. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”
