A Chat With Herman Schueremans

Pollstar Video Interview: Herman Schueremans is the founder of Belgium’s longest-running festival, Rock Werchter. He was instrumental in building the country’s live music business from scratch.

Since 2001, when Live Nation acquired Rock Werchter Festival, Schueremans has been heading up the industry giant’s Belgium operations.

Pollstar sat down with the well-respected promoter to speak about his history, his festival portfolio – which also includes Werchter Boutique and TW Classic – and the current state of the business.

He for example explains how he is able to maintain a staunch anti-secondary ticketing stance while working for a company that owns two secondary ticketing sites, and talks about what he does to get his mind off work – which he hardly ever feels the need to do.
