The Christian rock band teamed up with Andra Day for “Hard Love,” the title track from its sixth studio album, which was released last summer.

“We got to shoot this video in our hometown of Charleston with some amazingly talented marching band students at North Charleston High School,” frontman Bear Rinehart told People. “It was probably the most fun we’ve ever had shooting a video, not to mention getting to add the powerhouse that is Andra Day to the song. Her energy was incredibly natural and her performance in this video crushes.”

“It’s been amazing to work with NeedToBreathe on this song,” Day told the magazine. “I love the integrity of their music and it’s been incredible getting to know them throughout this process. Their character really shines through the track and I love the message of it.”

NeedToBreathe has been gathering fan input for the band’s ongoing video series “Hard Love Is ___,” with the promise of new videos being added every few days at

Earlier this week the band posted on Facebook, “During a recent trip to New York, we spent some time talking with people about what #HARDLOVE means to them. We heard some amazing stories and views on life, struggle, happiness and love. What came out of that is our new Hard Love is ___ series.”

The guys are gearing up for a spring excursion through the U.S. and Canada, with the promise of more gigs in the fall. But first NeedToBreathe will appear with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill at a handful of shows later this month in North Charleston, S.C.; Birmingham, Ala.; and Atlanta.
