Memoir, ‘Believe Me’
The English comedian/actor/writer plans to share personal photos, discuss his personal and professional life, and do some stand-up. The shows will also feature readings from his memoir, as well as Q&A session with the audience.
“Believe Me” is due out June 13 in the U.S. via Penguin Random House.
Here’s a review from John Cleese: “I had never heard of Eddie Izzard before, but judging by this delightful memoir, he has a glittering career ahead of him. I particularly enjoyed his descriptions of working in a Vatican slaughterhouse, acting as Deputy Foreign Minister in Gladstone’s first administration, his whacky exploits at his uncle’s Taxidermy Cafe, and his tragic death at the age of only eight at the Morris Dancing Finals in Bruges.”
Jokes aside, Izzard has called the guys from Monty Python his heroes, while Cleese has previously referred to Izzard as “the lost Python.”
