Allan Holdsworth Dies
Allan Holdsworth, 70, a prog rock and jazz fusion guitarist pioneer, died April 16.
The announcement came from a post by his daughter on Facebook and not much more was known at press time.
Holdsworth played in bands like ‘Igginbottom and Soft Machine before releasing his solo album I.O.U. In 1982. Eddie Van Halen called him “the best, in my book” and “so damned good that I can’t cop anything.”
Notables like Peter Frampton and Steve Lukather sent out their regrets via Twitter on Easter morning.
