John Prine Books Fall Tour
Fans in the Midwest and South will get the chance to see John Prine’s incredible catalog in action this fall. The acclaimed singer/songwriter announced the September-December outing today, ahead of the release of his first book.
Due out April 18, “John Prine Beyond Words” features lyrics and guitar chords for more than 60 classic Prine songs, more than 100 photographs from his official collection, and copies of handwritten lyrics showing how the songs evolved. The songbook also includes commentary from Prine about the songs and photographs.

Prine’s most recent album is 2016’s For Better, or Worse, which is made up of duets with female artists including Alison Krauss, Susan Tedeschi, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves. Rolling Stone included the project on its list of “15 Great Country and Americana Albums You Didn’t Hear In 2016.”
The fall tour begins Sept. 8 in Minneapolis, following spring gigs in Europe and Canada. He also has a handful of U.S. dates scheduled in the summer, as well as festival appearances, including Newport Folk.

Rolling Stone points out that Prine has partnered with Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan Program” to fight ticket scalpers.
