Love Rocks NYC! includes Gary Clark Jr. at Beacon Theatre in NYC March 9.
The event takes place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds June 16-18.
Additional performers include The Head And The Heart, Father John Misty, Regina Spektor, Gary Clark Jr., Jim James, Kurt Vile And The Violators, North Mississippi Allstars, Charles Bradley & The Extraordinaires, Dr. Dog and more.
The original festival propelled such icons as Jimi Hendrix, Monterey County Fairgrounds, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Mamas & The Papas, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, and Ravi Shankar into the national spotlight and was considered by many to be a landmark event in the Summer of Love and ’60s counterculture.
The event is being produced by Another Planet Entertainment and Goldenvoice. Though some of the proceeds will be donated to Monterey International Pop Foundation, the same charity as the original, this event will be for-profit, while the original performers played for free.
Three-day general admission passes and VIP tickets go on sale April 21 at 10 a.m. PDT. Learn more about the festival at MontereyPopFestival50.com.
