A six-month demolition permit for the building was issued April 26 by the city of Myrtle Beach. It allows for demolition down to the property’s slab, according to WMBF-TV.

The 2,700-seat theater was built in 1995 and had hosted many national acts including Kenny RogersChris Rock, Ray Charles, , and the Radio City Rockettes.

Demolition is expected to be completed before the end of June. In October, the Palace Theatre was damaged significantly when Hurricane Matthew blew through the area.

It has remained shuttered ever since.
