Blondie, Alison Moyet For Amazon Prime Concerts

After moving into ticketing and setting up premium seating lounges at select UK venues, online retail giant Amazon is staging concerts for subscribers to its Prime offering.

Dubbed Prime Live Events, Amazon says it will host “unique music events in intimate London venues,” with Blondie on May 23 and Alison Moyet on June 12 at the  in London’s Hackney district.

Other acts that have already been announced for future shows include Texas at  on June 16, and two gigs by  at Cadogan Hall, July 25-26. The concerts are “exclusively for Prime members,” and “Prime Live Events will be filmed and made exclusively available on Prime Video internationally,” the announcement states.

Amazon Prime subscribers also have early access to tickets sold on Amazon Tickets, not just in music.” Geraldine Wilson, Amazon Tickets GM, commented: “We’re delighted to reveal our first line up of fantastic artists performing Prime Live Events in stunning venues to audiences of less than 800, and Prime members in the UK and internationally will have the chance to watch the performance on Prime Video.”

Blondie’s Deborah Harry said: “We are excited to be performing at the first Prime Live Event marking 40 years since our first gig in the UK. The Round Chapel is an intimately warm and beautiful room allowing our fans to get up close and personal.” 

An Amazon representative informed Pollstar that the company is “working directly with the band and their management to produce and promote Prime Live Events.”
