Another Day, Another Fyre Suit
Fyre Festival VIP tickets were still being sold after it was clear the event was in trouble and artists were told not to fly out to the Bahamas before consumers were, according to a new suit filed against the ill-fated fest’s organizers.
The class-action suit is the seventh complaint filed since the festival was canceled just prior to its April 27 start date, leaving hundreds of ticketholders and others stranded on the island with little food, water or shelter – save for what were described by many as “FEMA tents.”
Sean Daly and Edward Ivey filed the suit May 9 in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of New York on behalf of “all others similarly situated,” against defendants Billy McFarland, Ja Rule, Fyre Media and the usual contingent of John and Jane Does.
