Due to “financial difficulties,” These Events Ltd. was “unable to proceed with the planned concerts,” a statement on the website of Falkirk FC, the soccer team using the stadium, reads.
The Scottish Herald reports that the co-owner and director of These Events, Rory Nicoll, was “the first person to be thrown off the dinnertime competition in its 12-year history for allegedly being drunk before the show.”
Fans have been informed that they would be refunded the ticket price of £40 to £45, albeit without the £1 service fee.
The only statement from the promoter could be found on Happy Mondays’ Facebook page: “It is with much regret that we have to cancel the above events. We endeavored to bring something new and exciting to Falkirk and have failed due to licensing difficulties and subsequent financial problems. All ticket purchasers have been contacted directly via email and any further enquiries should be directed to [email protected].”
