The xx Beefs Up NA Schedule

If you thought your last chances to see The xx in North America this year was in May, think again! The band now has a run of shows planned on the continent later this fall.

The new gigs are mostly in October, although the group has booked two September evenings in Southern California, playing Forum in Inglewood Sept. 27 and Santa Barbara Bowl Sept. 29. The band also appears at festivals like Life is Beautiful and Austin City Limits Festival during that leg.

The xx also just announced an appearance at Night + Day in Skogafoss, Iceland, which is held July 14-16.

Tickets to select new headline shows go on sale May 19, with presales beginning May 16.

The next gig for The xx is tomorrow in Pittsburgh. The band lingers around the Northeast until Boston Calling in Allston, Mass., on May 27. After that run, the summer plan mostly consists of European festival appearances.

The xx is currently promoting tunes off its latest album, I See You. A performance at Santa Barbara Bowl was described by the Los Angeles Times as “an impressive set.” 

“The xx hasn’t sacrificed the sense of intimacy – of two people exchanging confidences – that still defines songs sung in close harmony by Sim and Madley Croft.”
