As Soundgarden is now unable to perform at Rocklahoma on Saturday, Live will be taking on headline duties for the festival.
Rocklahoma is still happening May 26-28 in Pryor, Okla., as part of the World’s Loudest Month concert series.
“Although we all wish it were under different circumstances with regard to the passing of the incomparable Chris Cornell, Live is honored and excited to perform at Rocklahoma this weekend,” Ed Kowalczyk of Live said. “Chris and Soundgarden will forever inspire us and we’ll do our best to celebrate and express our sincere gratitude for everything they have given us with our concert.”
Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell was found dead in a Detroit hotel room May 17. He was 52. The group abruptly halted its touring plans after learning of Cornell’s death.
The event will feature a tribute to Cornell and a portion of the proceeds from the festival and guitar auctions will benefit the Chris And Vicky Cornell Foundation.
Tickets and camping passes are still on sale. The Pollstar festival page has the full lineup.

Check out the full plans for the festival on its festival page.
Newport Jazz and Newport Folk festivals are putting organization that promote environmental protection, health, and civic participation center stage in their upcoming events. There is an open call for all non-profits to apply for a spot.
The organizations are organizing a “Participation Row” social action village, similar to those at Lockn’, Okeechobee, and the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary tour.
The purpose is to promote awareness at these Newport, R.I., events, which will hopefully help them have a positive impact on the surrounding communities.
Organizations interested in participating in the row can visit Headcount.org/Newport.
You know Pollstar is still your place to go for all things Newport Jazz and Newport Folk.
