Shawn Colvin Celebrates ‘A Few Small Repairs’
Shawn Colvin fans will get the chance to hear A Few Small Repairs performed in its entirety this fall when the singer/songwriter hits the road in September on a cross-country excursion.
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of her fourth studio album, which she wrote following her first divorce and a relocation to Austin, Texas.
Colvin won Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammys for the track “Sunny Came Home.” She was also nominated for Best Pop Album and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the track “Get Out Of This House.”
“So happy to announce the tour for the 20th anniversary of A Few Small Repairs this fall!” Colvin posted on Facebook. “I’ll be performing the entire record from top to bottom (plus other material) with a stellar band. Proud to say that Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams will be opening the show and will be part of my band, too. Can’t wait for this, it’s gonna be fun!”
Her website notes that the fall outing is her first major tour with a full band since the album’s 1996 release. The setlist will also features “a variety of hits, personal favorites and a surprises from her repertoire.”
The tour begins Sept. 30 at the Moore Theatre in Seattle. The West Coast portion of the outing includes gigs in Portland, San Francisco and West Hollywood.
After that Colvin heads to Milwaukee, Chicago, New York, Atlanta and other fine cities across the U.S.A. The last stop is City Winery Nashville Nov. 19.

Colvin’s celebration continues with the release of a newly-expanded edition of A Few Small Repairs. Due out Sept. 15 via Columbia/Legacy Recordings, the anniversary edition comes with seven live recordings from the Sony Music archives, enhanced artwork with newly-written liner notes by Colvin and producer John Leventhal, and recently discovered archival photos.
