NME’s Andrew Trendell called Saturday’s show triumphant, writing, “Backed by cinematic footage created by Anton Corbijn, the ever-animated Dave Gahan was on the finest of form as he led the trio through an epic and career-spanning set – packed with rock classics and fan favourites.”
The London Stadium gig had been Depeche Mode’s only England date booked for 2017. But now the guys will be back this fall for performances at Manchester Arena Nov. 17, Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham Nov. 19 and London’s O2 Arena Nov. 22. Depeche Mode has also announced a Nov. 15 show at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
Tickets go on sale to the public June 9.
Gahan and company are supporting their 14th studio album, Spirit, which was released in March. A review from MOJO says, “Blow by blow, it all adds up to Depeche Mode’s best album this century.”
Depeche Mode plays Germany next, including Monday’s show at Rhein Energie Stadion in Cologne. The North American portion of the tour kicks off Aug. 23 in Salt Lake City. Visit the band’s tour page to see the itinerary for yourself.
