“It’s not every day you get to go on tour with an artist like Patty Griffin. Coming to a city near you this July!” Womack posted on Facebook today.

On her own Facebook page Griffin proclaimed, “So excited for these shows with my friend, the amazing Lee Ann Womack this July. Hope to see you out there!”

The excursion launches July 22 in Birmingham, Ala., with a gig at the Lyric Theatre. The seven-show tour includes performances in Bristol, Tenn.; Virginia Beach, Va.; Charlotte, N.C.; Durham, N.C.; and Savannah, Ga. The last stop is Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, S.C., July 30.

Each concert will feature separate sets from Griffin and Womack as well as special duet performances.

Griffin is continuing to showcase 2015’s Servant of Love, which is the singer/songwriter’s 10th album.

NPR proclaims, “Every Patty Griffin song arrives fully and perfectly formed, which is perhaps her greatest gift. She doesn’t require explanation or context, and she doesn’t have material that requires lead-up to enjoy. Her songwriting is honest and compassionate no matter the subject, her voice uniquely compelling and her guitar work unfailingly evocative.”

Womack released The Way I’m Livin’ in 2014, her first album since 2008’s Call Me Crazy.

“This is a triumph for country music that’s never musty yet still harkens back to a simpler, less glitzy time when emotions drove songs, not simplistic clichés. There are few better, more affecting voices in contemporary country than Womack’s and this glorious return only makes it clear how much she has been missed,” American Songwriter’s Hal Horowitz writes in a review of the LP.

Presale tickets for select dates go on sale June 7. Tickets go on sale to the public June 9.
