Bonnaroo Number Two?
Live Nation may be mulling over other ways to use Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tenn., beyond its annual hosting of Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
“There’s a strong possibility [for more events]” Bonnaroo’s Community Relations Director Jeff Cuellar said at a recent Rotary Club lunch, the Manchester Times reported. “We were in conversations last year for an event we were looking to have in the fall, but I think there’s a lot of competition out there and we’re being very strategic in terms of what we are trying to have out there.”
This year’s edition of the festival features U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival June 8-11. This year is also the first year the festival is using cashless wristbands as an option for festivalgoers.
Last year saw Bonnaroo’s attendance fall by tens of thousands from 2015, and Cuellar said the festival needs to move with the times.
“We’ve got something special, but we understand that we have to keep changing. We have to keep evolving and offering more to our fans.”
