Laid Back Rockers To Honor Legend

Jackson Browne, Steve Winwood, Peter Wolf and more are hitting the road for the Laid Back Festival. This year’s edition of the event will be celebrating its co-founder Gregg Allman.

There are currently three shows booked, though more are being promised. The lucky venues are the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., Sept. 21; Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, Conn., Sept. 23; and Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in New York Sept. 24.

Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band is also booked for all three shows, and Little Steven And The Disciples Of Soul is scheduled to appear as well.

Presales begin June 13 and the general public onsale starts June 16.

The festival, as always, will be a celebration of food and music that draws from more than 20 regional restaurants, food trucks, and artisans. Taking its name from Gregg Allman’s 1973 solo album Laid Back, the event first started in 2015. Last year’s edition feature Allman, ZZ Top, Jason Isbell, Peter Frampton, and Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater.
