The run of shows is being booked this fall at the Walter Kerr Theatre, according to the New York Post. With a capacity of just 975, this would give fans a rare chance to experience Springsteen’s show in an intimate setting.
The Post reports that Jujamcyn Theaters, which owns the Kerr, offered Springsteen free rent at the venue. The article doesn’t mention whether Springsteen will be joined by the E Street Band but points to a source that says he will do a pared-down version of his typical set.
Springsteen will reportedly perform five times a week. Specific dates haven’t been confirmed but the Post says that the residency will likely begin in November.
While we wait for more details, we can imagine another possible project in the works: Springsteen’s memoir, “Born To Run,” being transformed into a musical. The Post reports that several producers have reached out to Springsteen about adapting the book.
